Christa's Escape Plan

My local news stations are reporting that Christa Pike had an escape plan in the works with two men helping her. One was a pen pal turned bf and the other a smitten prison guard.
Somebody turned rat and the authorities found out about it.
The two men were arrested and Christa will be reprimanded.

Lisa Montgomery wanted a baby so badly that she befriended a woman only to strangle and cut the baby from her. She kept the baby girl for several days and tried to pass her off as her own before being apprehended.
Is this a terrible tragedy? Hell yes, of course.
Should Lisa Montgomery be punished? Absolutely.
Does she belong on death row? No, and Ill tell you why.
Lisa Montgomery

Lisa was diagnosed with  pseudocyesis- a condition wherein a woman's body exhibits signs of pregnancy to the point that she becomes convinced she is pregnant. From Wikipedia:
Lisa's Victim- Bobbie Jo Stinnett
VS Ramachandran, the well known neuroscientist, appeared as an expert for the defense and testified that Montgomery suffered from severe pseudocyesis delusion. According to Dr. Ramachandran, Montgomery's childhood sexual abuse and post-traumatic stress disorder predisposed her to pseudocyesis.

This alone is reason enough to understand why she exhibits violent behavior and why it is toward a pregnant female and why she took the baby.

I don't know Lisa personally. I do talk to Angela Johnson however and the two of them are housed together as our nations only two female federal death row inmates. Angie talks a lot of how much she cares for Lisa and was heartbroken when her friend had to return to Missouri for appeals.

Dianne Fanning, author of the Casey Anthony page turner Mommy's Little Girl chronicled the Lisa Montgomery case in exquisite detail with Baby be Mine. The whole story is a fascinating look at a little known illness and the federal governments acceptance of a mentally ill woman for execution.

Why Do People Become Serial Killers?

Guest Post from Sean Clarke
There are differences between mass murderers and serial killers:
o Mass murderers kill a number of people at one time and in one place. Mass murderers usually attack schools; universities and restaurants believing it to be a place for a maximum kill effect. They often die at the scene of the multiple slayings, either through suicide or police action. Only occasionally do they turn themselves into the police after the killings.
o Serial killers on the other hand, murder one at a time and go to great lengths to avoid detection and apprehension.
The US is believed to have the highest number of serial killers.
Why do people become serial killers or mass murderers?
Any problem can have causes either in one or more of the 3 dimensions, namely the physical, the psychological and the spiritual. Spiritual research has shown that the main root cause for a person to commit serial killing and mass murder lies in the spiritual realm. The breakdown of the reasons why a person commits serial killing and mass murder is like this -
Psychological - 10%
Physical - 0%
Spiritual - 90%
o The psychological factors have been well documented in various publications available on the Internet.
o With regards to the spiritual factors it is primarily demonic possession by medium level ghosts from the 2nd region of hell. In some cases these people have been possessed for many births by the same higher level ghosts.
It is for this reason that it is very difficult to predict when a mass murderer may go on a killing spree as the ghost possessing him can do it at any time without any warning signs.
Does this mean that serial killers and mass murderers are exonerated for their crimes at a karmic level?
As per the Law of karma we have to experience happiness or suffer the consequences of our actions and thoughts. For extreme acts like killing someone one has to suffer severely at a spiritual level in this lifetime or the next. But what if an entity or a ghost acted through a person? And by possessing the person, the ghost made the person commit heinous crimes like serial killing and mass murder. Is the possessed person still responsible as per the Law of Karma?
The answer is yes. The reason for this is that a ghost gains entry into our consciousness and possesses us due to our own vulnerabilities. These vulnerabilities include a high amount of demerits accrued from previous births, incorrect deeds, personality defects such as fear and anger that lead to anxiety and stress, lack of spiritual practice, etc. Even mass murderers or serial killers who are psychologically impaired incur demerits for their crime. The reason is that, basically they are psychologically deranged due to some major incorrect action of theirs either in this or some past birth. That is why they are still accountable for their crimes even though they may not be fully aware of their actions when committing the crime.
However the extent of demerits incurred is less than if they were to do the act without being possessed or psychologically deranged as compared to an average person in his senses and in full consciousness committing the same crimes.
Demerits earned due to mass murders or serial killing
o 60% - A psychologically impaired person going on a killing spree
o 60 % - A person under the complete control of ghost going on a killing spree
o 100% - An average person going on a killing spree
Mass murderers like Hitler would be earning demerits exponentially more than 100 on the above relative scale.
In summary
Spiritual root causes of problems can only be completely rectified through spiritual means. Regular spiritual practice as per the 6 basic principles of spiritual practice is the only sure way of preventing a ghost possessing us. Spiritual practice is also the only sure way of being protected from the onslaught of mass murderers and serial killers.

Brenda Andrew Execution date

Brenda Andrew is the only woman on Oklahoma death row. She is there for the murder of her husband by her and her boyfriend James Pavatt.

Brenda does not answer letters. It seems she may still have a bit of that pretentious attitude left over from her days as a respected deacons wife. Those days are over, hun.

There is no scheduled execution date for Brenda yet. Oklahoma lists its dates of execution for the prison she is in here.

Every time I read about this case I am utterly amazed at how stupid these two people were. She may as well have advertised their guilt on a billboard in front of the house. Both Andrew's and Pavatt's appeal were systematically denied without comment in 2008.

The little Scorned episode "The Sunday School Killers" at the top of this post is about Brenda and James and its only $1.99 so its worth the money.

Linda Carty Video

Linda Carty's story of life on the row premiered last night on the ID channel. Linda's case is an interesting global controversy. She is accused of planning the murder of her neighbor for the unborn baby she was carrying and she has been sentenced to death. Her native Great Britain has tried on multiple occasions to persuade Texas to allow her to be extradited to her home country.
This documentary by Werner Herzog shows her and her family and how they deal with whats happened and their side of the crimes. He also shows Linda's co-conspirators and their side of the story. They still claim that Linda was the mastermind of the murder.

Kerry Lyn Dalton- California Death Row

Kerry Lyn Dalton, her daughter and sister, Victoria.
I pulled this photo from the Kerry Lyn Dalton blog ran by her sister. I just found it today and from what I can gather from the spotty posts Kerry was wrongfully convicted on little to no physical evidence and only some shaky testimony from a meth head doped up during the interview.
I do look forward to hearing more about her case. The blog is located Here.

Women and Serial Killers

January of 2003, a waitress in Germany named Dagmar Polzin saw the picture of a convicted murderer while waiting at a bus stop in Hamburg. The photo was of Bobby Lee Harris, posted by an anti-death penalty group. Bobby Lee of North Carolina was on death row for stabbing his boss to death during a robbery. Polzin was profoundly influenced by the photo of Bobby Lee and fell in love that moment.
Later she said: "It was something in his eyes; there was this remorse, the sadness. I was attracted and knew he was the one." In less than a year Polzin and Harris was engaged and she moved to North Carolina to live with his family. For many who read these words this story is astonishing; but if you saw the picture that Polzin fell in love with it would difficult to understand. Harris may be very charming with qualities of a good husband; but he is no leading man. Right now there are more than one hundred British and German women engaged or married to men on death row in the United States. The desire to love men convicted of murder is not limited to European women alone
Prison romance between Polzin is not an isolated incident. it doesn't matter how extreme or appalling the crime with which the individual is convicted of, there is always a woman willing to stand by her man. The marriage vows "until death do us part" takes on a new and unique meaning when your spouse has a date with the executioner. Yes, it is very difficult for the average person to understand why so many well-educated, intelligent women are drawn to men convicted or murder and sentenced to death or to spend the rest of their lives behind bars.
For example, Scott Peterson recently convicted and sentenced to death for murdering his pregnant wife Laci. It was reported by officials at San Quentin Prison that in just a few hours after Peterson arrived on death row he received a proposal from a woman who wanted to be the next Ms. Peterson. And according to the warden his office received more than three dozen phone calls on Peterson's first day at San Quentin from women pleading for his mailing address.
Several studies have shown that there is no shortage of women who dream of finding a husband on death row and the deadliest criminals get the most proposals. Take Richard Ramirez, the night starker, he murdered at least 14 individuals, robbed, raped, and beaten many more than that. During his trial he declared "hails Satan" and was considered the embodiment of pure evil. Still, dozens of women flocked to his side after he was arrested. And long lines formed outside the prison; letters arrived by the box filled. After courting several women from behind bars he married 40 year old Doreen Lioy, a freelance magazine editor, in 1996.
John Wayne Gacy, for instance, this guy, a convicted murderer, rapist who murdered thirty-three young boys; even he received many love letters from women. And I understand there's a book published with a collection of letters that women sent to him; basically throw themselves at him seeking a relationship with him. John Wayne did have a relationship with a woman who was delusional and in denial who did not believe that he had committed the murders he was convicted of even though he was on death row about to be executed.
Carol Ann Boone moved from Washington State to Florida to be near Ted Bundy, who was convicted of killing over thirty women across the country. Boone and Bundy got married in 1980 and had one child. However, when she became convinced that Bundy was guilty of his crimes she moved away with their child.
These are just a few instances where women go to the extreme to love men, convicted of murder, on death row. Expert, in the field, say that many of these women do not believe that these serial killers are capable of committing the crimes which they are convicted. Expert like Shelia Isenberg says these women are in denial.
Shelia Isenberg the author of, Women Who Love Men Who Kill, did an in dept psychological analysis of women who are drawn to men who had committed violent acts. During her research Isenberg interviewed many of the women themselves, as well as psychologists, social workers, and prison authorities.
From Isenberg's research it's clear that these women are not all outcasts of society, uneducated ghetto residents, or trailer tramps. These women are teachers, nurses, social workers, waitresses, office workers, and housewives. Isenberg stated that many of the women have been victims of abuse and violence themselves. And there are those who know exactly what type of relationship they are getting into; but their capacity for denial, and the overwhelming desire for a safe, idealized, romantic fantasy of love eclipses their better judgment.
Isenberg went on to say that; "this phenomenon involve a complicated series of reasons. The first reason is that if you are in a relationship with a man behind bars for life or a man on death row, then you have a lot of control over the relationship. You can decide when to make the visit, when to accept the phone call, or if you will accept the call, and you are that man's primary link with the outside world. So as you can clearly see it's a very powerful position to be in."
In addition to power and control, women in relationship with men behind bars receive nearly absolute attention from the inmate; with little or no distraction or serious competition. Men in prison have hours of free time to study the women they are involved. These men study the women's vulnerability and personality traits and use this knowledge to manipulate the women to meet their immediate needs and desires. After all, serial killers and murderers were predators in the real world. Why would anyone think that they would change in prison?
Isenberg points out that; "when you have a man with notoriety, like a serial killer, like Ted Bundy, or Richard Ramirez, or the Melendez brothers, or someone like Scott Peterson, there is a different element. Then the women are also attracted to the notoriety and the fame, and this is her 15 minutes of fame."
Final thoughts; the psychopath
There are many theories and speculations why certain women gravitate to men convicted of murder. Some experts say that these women are mentally-retarded. Why would any rational woman find anything appealing about someone who wants to rape you and murder you.
A more pathological scenarios is that women who love men who kill are women who have a background of abuse and getting involved in this type of relationship; is they way of undoing and re-writing the past. This time, however, she is in control and he's behind bars with no means to hurt her. What is certain, however, the psychological motivation of these women are as varied as the women themselves.
The psychological constitution and the personality traits of serial killers and murderers, on the other hand, is no mystery; they are seasoned psychopaths. The psychopath is forever, and they live in a world of their own.
Even Freud, the father of psychoanalysis, had little to say about the psychopath. He did singled-out the psychopath as an exception to the average criminals. Freud said: "Among adult criminals we must no doubt accept those who commit crimes without any sense of guilt, who have either developed no moral inhibitions or who, in their conflict with society, consider themselves justified in their actions as psychopathic."
The psycho-dynamic of the psychopath is defined in this manner; a lack of remorse or shame, poor judgment and failure to learn from experience, egocentricity and incapacity for love, poverty of affective reaction, and loss of insight
Women who seek out serial killers, murders, rapists, and society's rejects should first take into account the personality of the psychopath. The psychopath is a rebel; his rebelliousness is designed to achieve goals satisfactory to him alone; he is incapable of vigorous effort, of any kind, for the sake of others. All his efforts, no matter what shape it takes, represent investments aimed to satisfy his immediate wishes and desires.
Women who seek intimate relationship and marriage with psychopath behind prison walls should be conscious that when he says "I do" he means I do for myself; everything that I do is to meet my immediate needs and desires.
Women should never forget; there are no prince among serial killers and murderers ... only frogs.

Serial Killers 101 by Dakota Blue

We all know about famous serial killers throughout history. We may not know their stories, their cases, their lives or how they got where they ended up, but we certainly recognize their names. At least most of their names anyway. Serial killers are a different kind of person. They're not "just" a murderer or a kidnapper or a rapist... they've committed these crimes numerous times.
Here's a list of some of the most known serial killers: David Berkowitz, Ted Bundy, Andrei Chikatilo, Andrew Cunanan, Jeffrey Dahmer, Albert DeSalvo, Albert Fish, John Wayne Gacy, Ed Gein, The Hillside Stranglers, Jack the Ripper, Edmund Kemper, Peter Kurten, Henry Lee Lucas, Charles Manson, Carl Panzram, Richard Ramirez, Richard Speck, Ottis Toole, Wayne Williams, Aileen Wournos and the Zodiac Killer.
Did I mention I once saw an actual letter written by Charles Manson? My first semester of college when I first started to study the law and criminal justice. The local grade school had an assignment where the kids had to write a letter to celebrity. Some kid picked Charles Manson (what kind of kid... I don't know. I'm not sure I want to!) and Manson actually wrote back about 2 months later. Guess there's nothing better to do in the pokey.
Anyhoo, in the kids letter, the girl explained that she was in grade school and that this was her assignment and all that good stuff. Well, ole' Charley didn't believe her. He was convinced she was an authority figure or official trying to trick him into saying or doing something. He then commenced to tell the child certain steps to take in writing the next letter to prove it was really a little kid writing to him. Did I mention his writing looks like a grade schoolers? Oh, and his spelling is even worse. It's like deciphering code.
So the grade school immediately called officials and my professor ended up with the letter and showed it to us. It was awesome! It made me giddy like a schoolgirl and all fuzzy inside. The coolest thing ever. But would I write to Manson? Hell no.
There's my story. The closest I've come to a serial killer (that I know of) and the closest I ever intend to be.
So let's look at some serial killer facts...
Over 90 % are white males
They have high average IQ's but still do poorly in school and work
They have unstable families with psychotic or alcoholic backgrounds
They hate their fathers and mothers
Abused as children
Spend time in institutions as children
High rate of suicide attempts
Interested at a young age in voyeurism, fetishism and porn
As children they also have a few things in common. They wet the bed, enjoy fire starting and are involved in sadistic activity. Before they're big/strong enough to target humans, they target small animals.
That's part of the psychological profile of a serial killer. Here's some more:
Disorganized thinking Bipolar Disorder
Feeling or resentment towards society
Sexual frustrations Inability to be social or socially accepted
Overbearing parents Wild imaginations Daydreaming
Compulsive masturbation Isolation
There are usually pre-crime stressors which "the criminal does not realise the full extent of his motivations or fails to see the reasons behind the stress he feels. A clear example of this can be seen upon the questioning of Berkowitz who denied he had anything against women, nor did he have reason as to why he killed so many. In actually fact, his mother's rejection was the stresser that ultimately turned him violent. He did not attack his mother directly (few serial killers ever attack the source of their resentment), but the majority of his killings where based on women who had a likeness to his mother" (Sycmnias, nd).
Freud once said that a child would take over the world if they had the power. In a way, a serial killers mentality could be compared to that since they have not have the opportunity to develop "normally" like the rest of us. They live in a fantasy world in which their fantasy takes place of reality.
88% of serial killers are male
85% are caucasian
Average starting age is 28
62% target complete strangers
22% kill at least one stranger
71% operate in specific locations
These individuals have no conscience and have not learned intimacy. They think of themselves as dominant and powerful. They lack insight and have a superficial charm as well as a lack of remorse. Added to that, they have no signs of irrational thinking.
In closing, there are a ton of serial killers out there; some of which haven't been found yet. These are just some names, facts and figures to give you a bit of insight into a serial killers world. And no, I'm not posting crime scene photos. I'm sure we could all live without them.
