Oregon is considering its first ever woman for execution. Currently, there are 36 men on death row in the state but they have not executed anyone since 1997. Sources state that the low budget in the state keeps the death penalty off the table.
That is a pretty good sign that its ineffectual. Its just to damn expensive. If, as supporters claim, it costs more to execute a person than to hand out a life sentence why doesnt Oregon know this?
Angela McAnulty and her husband starved and tortured her 15 year old daughter to death in 2009. Proecutors claim she tampered with evidence after the death of her daughter from starvation and dehydration.
Angela had two boys by her first husband as well as, Jeanette, the daughter she killed. Both boys were permenatly removed from her custody years before.
She has plead guilty.

Jeanette died from much, much worse abuse than simple starvation and dehydration. That girl was beaten to death after months of torture. If ever a woman deserved the death penalty, Angela McAnulty does.
